You Promise... They Actually Listen.

Sarah here!
Let me first introduce myself. I'm a SAHM of a 2 year old Boy with a Baby Girl on the way. Very soon, actually! We'll be welcoming her in January! That being said, we are in the process of moving to a new house so my contributions might be a little spread out. Yes, we might in fact be crazy moving with a toddler and me being 7 months pregnant. But that just means I'll have A LOT of great stories to share when I find an extra couple minutes! Haha! Happy Reading!

-------------------------

So, this "promise" I issued yesterday.

My son is {FINALLY} starting to pick up on words, mimicking you when you say something or using words he's seen on Blue's Clues/Go Diego Go in question form; and for some reason I didn't think he actually listened/comprehended when I said things like "let's ____, then we'll ____." BOY, was I wrong. I'm fortunate enough that he still naps 3 hours a day and sleeps really great at night... buuut...

Yesterday he REALLY wanted to watch "Coos Coos" at nap time. So I said, "I promise, when you wake up from nap time you can watch Blue's Clues." I smiled, he smiled. I put him down for a nap and thought all was golden! Mommy Time/Peace and Quiet for 3 whole hours! Psht! Turns out that promise stuck in his head..... he woke up every 30 minutes asking for "towntairs, Coos Coos?" [Translation: Downstairs, Blue's Clues?] This went on for 2 hours before he decided NOT to go back to sleep.

I want him to have things to look forward to, but will definitely watch how I word things from now on! Glad to know though that the little stinker DOES actually listen to Mama :D

Silver Lining: Got my exercise going up and down the stairs yesterday ;)
